LA VEGUETA WHITE
La Vegueta es fruto de la búsqueda de una propuesta fresca y frutal. Un vino del municipio de Tinajo que surge como el resultado de un ensamblaje de dos vinos procedentes de dos variedades: diego y malvasía volcánica.
Signature wine
This is Miguel Morales’ most recent project. In this case it is the result of the blending of two wines (Diego and Malvasia Volcanica), originating in the family plots, Juan Bello (0.45 Ha) and La Vegueta (0.22 Ha), respectively, the former in the National Park of Timanfaya and the Natural Park of Los Volcanes and La Vegueta in the Natural Landscape of La Geria. The diego variety, together with the volcanic malvasía volcanic, are the protagonists at 50%, with an age of over 60 years and 30 years for the volcanic malvasía volcanic. The plots maintain the traditional system of cultivation in holes in the case of the diego variety and the volcanic malvasia the ditch protection system. With a planting frame of four by four for planting in holes thus preserving the uniqueness of this unique vineyard and a frame of one point five by two for the area of La Vegueta.
The grape skin is very thick and the must is viscous, terpenic and of high acidity, making it difficult to produce and with a low yield, but with a very original character, unlike the Malvasia Volcanica, with a thin skin and a more watery and translucent must than the Diego. For both varieties we keep the must for 12 hours with its skins, spontaneous fermentation and the wine remains on its lees for at least nine months.
We want to express our landscape through handcrafted, timeless and cellaring wines, with a single philosophy: to enjoy sharing the moment.
